How did you meet?

We met back in 1996 in the school playground, I was in year 6 and Vas was in year 7. From the moment I saw Vas I tried to win his heart and finally after 8 years and many failed attempts, Vas's knees went wobbly when I walked into his work. It might have helped that his Aunty, who was also my friend was putting the good word in his ear.

Best Wedding Moment

Getting back to the hotel room ... In all seriousness I think the best wedding moment was when we first made eye contact as I walked into the church.

Tips for brides to be

When it comes to the actual day, don't stress about the little things because as long as you and the groom both turn up that is all that should matter.

Also make sure you and your husband take a moment together to stand back during the reception to appreciate your friends and family being there for you.

How did you find the Bella Vista Team?

What can we say except for outstanding, fantastic and wonderful! We had 300 guests and the Bella Vista team went out and beyond to ensure everyone felt accommodated, everyone had a drink in their hand the whole night and the food service was exceptional. The boat and tables where decorated to exactly how we wanted them and because we had so many guest we had so many tables but the team at Bella Vista arranged the tables leaving us with ample amount of space to move and most importantly leaving us with a large dancing area.

We still have friends and family calling us to say how much they enjoyed our wedding and especially the reception and some of which have already called to book their next function on the Bella Vista. Special compliments have to be made to Lisa Dimmock, who not only helped us plan our fabulous day but was there on the night to make sure everything went smoothly. Thank you so much to the whole team at Bella Vista that contributed to making "Our"” night the most magical night.

What made you chose Bella Vista

I fell in love with the Bella Vista at first sight when I attended the Wedding Expo in 2009 at Darling Harbour. The Bella Vista was definitely the most amazing vessel in the harbour that day. I knew that it would be our perfect wedding venue and all of our guests would simply be amazed and enjoy the experience.

Describe your overall wedding experience

We had a magical fairy tale wedding with 34 bridal entourage; we had 5 bridesmaids, 3 maids of honours, 2 junior bridesmaids and 6 flower girls all with matching partners and 3 wedding ushers! Ant and I had an amazing time and so did our family and all our guests. It was a very memorable and one unforgettable experience indeed for everyone aboard the Bella Vista.

How did you find the menu?

The Bella Vista menu has much variety and great selections of dishes. The selection for our wedding menu was quite a tough one to decide because all of the food we tasted on the Taste Testing evening was all incredibly delicious and very well presented. We were overwhelmed by the response from our family and guests with how fantastic the food was and they really enjoyed everything we chose from the menu.

How did you find the service?

The staff of the Bella Vista provided us with a very friendly, efficient and welcoming service. Lisa who helped and assisted us to put together an amazing reception made sure nothing was overlooked and everything to our satisfaction and expectations. Lisa’s dedication to her work as a wedding reception organiser has proven invaluable and I totally appreciated all her efforts for making the whole process easy and with no fuss.

What was the overall guest feedback

A first class venue! Nobody wanted it to end - our guests wished that we could have all stayed a few hours longer.

Any advice for brides and grooms.

You only hope to get married once and you want it exactly how you imagined it would be therefore I suggest for every bride to have at least 2 make-up trials and never pay full up-front, never make assumptions, and if you want it done and done correctly how you wanted it, then I suggest you do it yourself!

What made you chose Bella Vista

We wanted something different from the normal function centres and Bella Vista was what we were looking for

Describe your overall wedding experience

It was a day to remember, a few small things went wrong but overall it was a great day.

How did you find the menu?

The food was fantastic, we were so busy didn't get the chance to eat our deserts and Lisa was kind enough to pack it for us. We ate it when got to the hotel, it was delicious.

How did you find the service?

The service were better than what we had expected, the staff are so professional and patient.

They love the service, the food, and the music.

Don't stress, whatever goes wrong on the day.... let it be.. it makes the memories much more memorable
